Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Figures in Thailand Countryside; & River Boat in Thailand Passing Huts on Stilts by Damrong Wong-Uparaj was sold in the A Special Selection of Asian 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Day Sale) auction at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2013. The price achieved of HKD 43,750.00 (€ 4,147.99) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 35,000.00 – 55,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Damrong Wong-Uparaj achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Traditional Houses on Stilts, 1962 in March 2019 with an auction result of HKD 875,625.00 (€ 99,353.96).

Die Arbeit Figures in Thailand Countryside; & River Boat in Thailand Passing Huts on Stilts von Damrong Wong-Uparaj wurde im November 2013 in der Auktion A Special Selection of Asian 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Day Sale) bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 43.750,00 (€ 4.147,99) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 35.000,00 – 55.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Damrong Wong-Uparaj erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Traditional Houses on Stilts, 1962 im März 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 875.625,00 (€ 99.353,96).
