Sold at the upper estimate price
In March 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction TO LIVE WITH ART: Property from the Jerome & Ellen Stern Collection, which included the work Margin Of Accident/Running Gag Ii by Damián Ortega. The auction ended at the price of USD 40,000.00 (€ 32,467.53), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Damián Ortega - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Auto construcción, caja de velocidades, which sold at auction in May 2013 for USD 100,000.00 (€ 76,994.15).
