Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Elote Clasificado by Damián Ortega for USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,435.06). This price was achieved in the auction TO LIVE WITH ART: Property from the Jerome & Ellen Stern Collection at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Damián Ortega achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Auto construcción, caja de velocidades in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 100,000.00 (€ 76,994.15).

Im März 2018 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Elote Clasificado von Damián Ortega für USD 3.000,00 (€ 2.435,06) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion TO LIVE WITH ART: Property from the Jerome & Ellen Stern Collection bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Damián Ortega erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Auto construcción, caja de velocidades im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 100.000,00 (€ 76.994,15).
