Auction result well in line with expectations
The work (I) Tokyo, 1964/ Dijon, 1996 (Ii) Heerenlux by Daan van Golden was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art auction at Christies in Amsterdam in December 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 6,250.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Daan van Golden achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Schilderij 1964 Recht van Voren Gezien (Painting 1964 Seen Directly from the Front) in November 2016 with an auction result of EUR 266,500.00.
