Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Craig Kauffman achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2011. In the Contemporary Art auction, the work without title sold for USD 146,500.00 (€ 103,292.67) - well above the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Craig Kauffman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in May last year for USD 327,600.00 (€ 305,283.76).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Craig Kauffman erzielte im März 2011 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 146.500,00 (€ 103.292,67) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 60.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Craig Kauffman mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für USD 327.600,00 (€ 305.283,76) versteigert wurde.
