In January 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction The Jeffrey E. Horvitz Collection of Italian Drawings, which included the work Seated Male Nude by Corrado Giaquinto. The auction ended at the price of USD 25,000.00 (€ 16,845.23), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 20,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Corrado Giaquinto achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Maria Immaculata mit dem Propheten Elias. in March 2008 with an auction result of CHF 408,000.00 (€ 260,185.51).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Januar 2008 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion The Jeffrey E. Horvitz Collection of Italian Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Seated Male Nude von Corrado Giaquinto zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 16.845,23) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 25.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Corrado Giaquinto erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Maria Immaculata mit dem Propheten Elias. im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 408.000,00 (€ 260.185,51).
