Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2010 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master and British Paintings Evening Sale, which included the work An Allegory Of The Vanquishing Of War By Truth, Hope And Prudence by Corrado Giaquinto. The price achieved of GBP 97,250.00 (€ 116,932.17) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Corrado Giaquinto - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Maria Immaculata mit dem Propheten Elias., which sold at auction in March 2008 for CHF 408,000.00 (€ 260,185.51).
