Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Cornell Capa achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in May 2010. In the PHOTOGRAPHS auction, the work Bolshoi Ballet School, Moscow sold for GBP 5,250.00 (€ 6,151.10) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,500.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Cornell Capa; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Bolshoi Ballet School, Moscow sold at auction in October 2015 with the realized price of USD 11,250.00 (€ 10,188.37).
