Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June 2018 Lempertz in Cologne held the auction Photographie, which included the work Marilyn Monroe during the filming of "The Misfits", Nevada by Cornell Capa. Here, the upper estimate of EUR 2,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 2,232.00. Admittedly, works by Cornell Capa have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bolshoi Ballet School, Moscow in October 2015 with an auction result of USD 11,250.00 (€ 10,188.37).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juni 2018 führte Lempertz in Köln die Auktion Photographie durch, in der auch die Arbeit Marilyn Monroe during the filming of "The Misfits", Nevada von Cornell Capa zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 2.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 2.232,00 einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cornell Capa auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bolshoi Ballet School, Moscow im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 11.250,00 (€ 10.188,37).
