Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Cornell Capa could be acquired at Christies in New York in April 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Crossing America: Photographs from the Consolidated Freightways Collection, Part I auction, the work Bob Kennedy for U.S. Senator, 1964 changed hands for USD 2,000.00 (€ 1,349.44) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Admittedly, works by Cornell Capa have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bolshoi Ballet School, Moscow in October 2015 with an auction result of USD 11,250.00 (€ 10,188.37).
