Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Cornelia Parker could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in December 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art Online | New York auction, the work Measuring Liberty With A Dollar changed hands for USD 4,000.00 (€ 3,562.84) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cornelia Parker achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Alter Ego (Mutiny) in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 32,500.00 (€ 46,074.08).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Cornelia Parker konnte im Dezember 2019 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Online | New York wechselte die Arbeit Measuring Liberty With A Dollar für USD 4.000,00 (€ 3.562,84) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cornelia Parker erzielen.
