Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2021 Sothebys in Paris held the auction Art Impressionniste et Moderne Day Sale, which included the work Vue de l’atelier, vers 1923 : La Sorcière (1916-1924), L'Oiseau dans l'espace, plâtre (1923-1924 ?), L'Oiseau dans l'espace, marbre jaune (1923-1924 ?), Socrate (1921-1922), Princesse X (1915-1916) by Constantin Brancusi. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 40,320.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Constantin Brancusi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La jeune fille sophistiquée (Portrait de Nancy Cunard) in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 71,187,500.00 (€ 61,000,428.45).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2021 führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Art Impressionniste et Moderne Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Vue de l’atelier, vers 1923 : La Sorcière (1916-1924), L'Oiseau dans l'espace, plâtre (1923-1924 ?), L'Oiseau dans l'espace, marbre jaune (1923-1924 ?), Socrate (1921-1922), Princesse X (1915-1916) von Constantin Brancusi zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 40.320,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Constantin Brancusi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La jeune fille sophistiquée (Portrait de Nancy Cunard) im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 71.187.500,00 (€ 61.000.428,45).
