This artwork by Colin Jones achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in September 2010. In the Lehman Brothers: Artwork and Ephemera auction, the work Seven Sisters, Dalais Valley, South Wales, 1997 sold for GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,758.97) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Colin Jones - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Newcastle, 1963, which sold at auction in September 2010 for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,397.42).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Colin Jones erzielte im September 2010 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Lehman Brothers: Artwork and Ephemera wurde die Arbeit Seven Sisters, Dalais Valley, South Wales, 1997 für GBP 3.250,00 (€ 3.758,97) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Colin Jones mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Newcastle, 1963 beobachtet, die im September 2010 für GBP 8.125,00 (€ 9.397,42) versteigert wurde.
