Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work The Wall Street Ferry Slip (The Ferries, New York) by Colin Campbell Cooper. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 225,000.00 (€ 189,107.41) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Colin Campbell Cooper - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work New York Public Library, which sold at auction in May 2008 for USD 881,000.00 (€ 566,195.37).
