Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2021 Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction California Art, which included the work Church Interior (Seville Cathedral) by Colin Campbell Cooper. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,187.50 (€ 2,701.27) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Colin Campbell Cooper achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work New York Public Library in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 881,000.00 (€ 566,195.37).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2021 führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion California Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Church Interior (Seville Cathedral) von Colin Campbell Cooper zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.187,50 (€ 2.701,27) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Colin Campbell Cooper erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit New York Public Library im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 881.000,00 (€ 566.195,37).
