The »bidding war« ended at USD 19,682,500.00 (€ 14,630,565.67), 31% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Clyfford Still - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 1949-A-No . 1, which sold at auction in November 2011 for USD 61,682,500.00 (€ 45,850,367.95).

Für andere Arbeiten von Clyfford Still mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 1949-A-No . 1 beobachtet, die im November 2011 für USD 61.682.500,00 (€ 45.850.367,95) versteigert wurde.
