In November 2011 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Evening Auction, which included the work 1947-Y-No. 2 by Clyfford Still. The »bidding war« ended at USD 31,442,500.00 (€ 23,372,110.31), 57% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Clyfford Still; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot 1949-A-No . 1 sold at auction in November 2011 with the realized price of USD 61,682,500.00 (€ 45,850,367.95).

Im November 2011 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Evening Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit 1947-Y-No. 2 von Clyfford Still zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 31.442.500,00 (€ 23.372.110,31) und damit 57% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Clyfford Still; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit 1949-A-No . 1 im November 2011 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 61.682.500,00 (€ 45.850.367,95).
