Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Clarence H. White, Jr., On A Bench by Clarence H. White was sold in the Photographs auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2009. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 7,500.00 (€ 5,655.68) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Clarence H. White achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Telegraph Poles in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 103,000.00 (€ 66,161.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Clarence H. White, Jr., On A Bench von Clarence H. White wurde im März 2009 in der Auktion Photographs bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 7.500,00 (€ 5.655,68) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Clarence H. White erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Telegraph Poles im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 103.000,00 (€ 66.161,36).
