The work Untitled 84-7-7 by Chung Sang-Hwa was sold in the Contemporary Art auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2018. It achieved a price of HKD 775,000.00 (€ 87,266.15), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 55%. Admittedly, works by Chung Sang-Hwa have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled 97-3-26 in October 2016 with an auction result of HKD 6,440,000.00 (€ 757,854.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 55 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Untitled 84-7-7 von Chung Sang-Hwa wurde im Oktober 2018 in der Auktion Contemporary Art bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 775.000,00 (€ 87.266,15) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 55%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chung Sang-Hwa auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled 97-3-26 im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 6.440.000,00 (€ 757.854,41).
