Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2017 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale), which included the work UNTITLED by Chua Ek Kay. It changed hands for a price of HKD 60,000.00 (€ 6,851.19) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 45,000.00 – 65,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chua Ek Kay achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Archipelago 1, 2, & 3 in November 2015 with an auction result of HKD 875,000.00 (€ 106,868.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2017 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit UNTITLED von Chua Ek Kay zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 60.000,00 (€ 6.851,19) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 45.000,00 – 65.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chua Ek Kay erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Archipelago 1, 2, & 3 im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 875.000,00 (€ 106.868,96).
