It achieved a price of HKD 237,500.00 (€ 25,060.05), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 58%. Admittedly, works by Chua Ek Kay have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Archipelago 1, 2, & 3 in November 2015 with an auction result of HKD 875,000.00 (€ 106,868.96).

Die Arbeit Lotus Pond Wind Morning von Chua Ek Kay wurde im April 2018 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 237.500,00 (€ 25.060,05) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 58%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chua Ek Kay auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Archipelago 1, 2, & 3 im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 875.000,00 (€ 106.868,96).
