Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Lotus series by Chua Ek Kay was sold in the Modern Art Online auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in May last year. It achieved a price of HKD 239,400.00 (€ 28,421.92), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 20%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chua Ek Kay - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Archipelago 1, 2, & 3, which sold at auction in November 2015 for HKD 875,000.00 (€ 106,868.96).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Lotus series von Chua Ek Kay wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern Art Online bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 239.400,00 (€ 28.421,92) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 20%. Für andere Arbeiten von Chua Ek Kay mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Archipelago 1, 2, & 3 beobachtet, die im November 2015 für HKD 875.000,00 (€ 106.868,96) versteigert wurde.
