Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2016 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale), which included the work CHINESE CABBAGE by Chua Ek Kay. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 60,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 62,500.00 (€ 7,616.04). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chua Ek Kay achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Archipelago 1, 2, & 3 in November 2015 with an auction result of HKD 875,000.00 (€ 106,868.96).
