Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2017 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art, which included the work A Pause For Silence by Chua Ek Kay. It changed hands for a price of HKD 525,000.00 (€ 61,968.79) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 380,000.00 – 550,000.00. Other works by Chua Ek Kay have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2015 the work Archipelago 1, 2, & 3 was auctioned for HKD 875,000.00 (€ 106,868.96).

Im April 2017 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Pause For Silence von Chua Ek Kay zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 525.000,00 (€ 61.968,79) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 380.000,00 – 550.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Chua Ek Kay konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im November 2015 die Arbeit Archipelago 1, 2, & 3 für HKD 875.000,00 (€ 106.868,96) versteigert.
