Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Under the Flag by Christopher Brown was sold in the Prints & Multiples Online auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in July 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,020.00 (€ 866.32) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christopher Brown achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Film Study in September 2007 with an auction result of USD 46,000.00 (€ 32,351.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Under the Flag von Christopher Brown wurde im Juli 2020 in der Auktion Prints & Multiples Online bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.020,00 (€ 866,32) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Christopher Brown erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Film Study im September 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 46.000,00 (€ 32.351,08).
