Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Seventy-Nine Men by Christopher Brown was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in July 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 701.25 (€ 595.59). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christopher Brown achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Film Study in September 2007 with an auction result of USD 46,000.00 (€ 32,351.08).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Seventy-Nine Men von Christopher Brown im Juli 2020 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 701,25 (€ 595,59) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Christopher Brown erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Film Study im September 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 46.000,00 (€ 32.351,08).
