Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Christian Rosa was auctioned at Phillips in New York in July this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 13,970.00 (€ 12,676.95). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christian Rosa achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Something In The Way in October 2014 with an auction result of GBP 116,500.00 (€ 148,753.67).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Christian Rosa im Juli diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 13.970,00 (€ 12.676,95) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Christian Rosa erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Something In The Way im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 116.500,00 (€ 148.753,67).
