Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The School of Grosse Hamburgerstrasse, Berlin, 1939: seven prints by Christian Boltanski was auctioned at Christies in New York in April this year. The price achieved of USD 2,394.00 (€ 2,168.48) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christian Boltanski achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Monument (Odessa) in November 2000 with an auction result of USD 138,000.00 (€ 158,730.16).
