Auction result well in line with expectations
In March this year Christies in New York held the auction Contemporary Edition: New York: Featuring the Collection of Kenwal Steel in Support of GLAAD, which included the work Gymnasium Chases by Christian Boltanski. The price achieved of USD 3,780.00 (€ 3,476.82) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christian Boltanski achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Monument (Odessa) in November 2000 with an auction result of USD 138,000.00 (€ 158,730.16).
