Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Chris Vasell was sold in the Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Phillips in New York in November 2013. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 9,187.12) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chris Vasell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Urine Burn (Burned Mind), which sold at auction in April 2008 for GBP 23,300.00 (€ 29,704.21).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Chris Vasell wurde im November 2013 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 9.187,12) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Chris Vasell mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Urine Burn (Burned Mind) beobachtet, die im April 2008 für GBP 23.300,00 (€ 29.704,21) versteigert wurde.
