Auction result well in line with expectations
The work On The Ball by Chris Smith was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in April 2019. The price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,253.82) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 6,000.00 – 9,000.00. Admittedly, works by Chris Smith have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ali And The Beatles, 1964 in September 2018 with an auction result of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 49,136.87).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit On The Ball von Chris Smith kam im April 2019 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 7.253,82) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 6.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chris Smith auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ali And The Beatles, 1964 im September 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 43.750,00 (€ 49.136,87).
