This artwork by Chris Smith achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in March 2020. In the Made in Britain auction, the work Ali And The Beatles, 1964 sold for GBP 35,000.00 (€ 39,522.17) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Chris Smith; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Ali And The Beatles, 1964 sold at auction in September 2018 with the realized price of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 49,136.87).
