This work without title by Chris Ofili was sold in the Modern & Contemporary Day Auction auction at Sothebys in London in June last year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 27,720.00 (€ 32,202.75), 54% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chris Ofili achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Holy Virgin Mary in June 2015 with an auction result of GBP 2,882,500.00 (€ 4,064,288.82).

Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Chris Ofili wurde im Juni letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Day Auction bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 27.720,00 (€ 32.202,75) und damit 54% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chris Ofili erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Holy Virgin Mary im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.882.500,00 (€ 4.064.288,82).
