Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Chris Burden could be acquired at Phillips in New York in October 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Evening & Day Editions auction, the work Two World War I Tanks changed hands for USD 1,125.00 (€ 1,026.27) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chris Burden achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Warship in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 502,000.00 (€ 450,830.71).
