In October 2004 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction FINE CLASSICAL CHINESE PAINTINGS AND CALLIGRAPHY, which included the work Poem In Running Script Calligraphy by Cheng Zhengkui. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 83,650.00 (€ 8,426.69), 67% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cheng Zhengkui achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy In Running Script in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 1,180,000.00 (€ 121,484.44).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 67 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2004 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion FINE CLASSICAL CHINESE PAINTINGS AND CALLIGRAPHY durch, in der auch die Arbeit Poem In Running Script Calligraphy von Cheng Zhengkui zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 83.650,00 (€ 8.426,69) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cheng Zhengkui erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy In Running Script im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.180.000,00 (€ 121.484,44).
