Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Cheng Zhengkui could be acquired at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings auction, the work Landscape changed hands for HKD 106,250.00 (€ 11,211.07) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 120,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cheng Zhengkui achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy In Running Script in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 1,180,000.00 (€ 121,484.44).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Cheng Zhengkui konnte im April 2018 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings wechselte die Arbeit Landscape für HKD 106.250,00 (€ 11.211,07) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 120.000,00 – 150.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cheng Zhengkui erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy In Running Script im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.180.000,00 (€ 121.484,44).
