Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy, which included the work Landscape by Cheng Zhengkui. The price achieved of USD 9,375.00 (€ 8,728.24) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cheng Zhengkui achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy In Running Script in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 1,180,000.00 (€ 121,484.44).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2015 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Landscape von Cheng Zhengkui zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 9.375,00 (€ 8.728,24) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cheng Zhengkui erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy In Running Script im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.180.000,00 (€ 121.484,44).
