Artwork auctioned at eight times the upper estimate price
When the work Butteflies by Chen Zun was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2011, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 80,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than eight times as high at HKD 680,000.00 (€ 65,053.15). Admittedly, works by Chen Zun have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Plum Blossom in September 2014 with an auction result of USD 389,000.00 (€ 308,045.61).
Kunstwerk zum Achtfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Butteflies von Chen Zun im November 2011 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 80.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 680.000,00 (€ 65.053,15) mehr als achtmal so hoch. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chen Zun auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Plum Blossom im September 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 389.000,00 (€ 308.045,61).
