Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Asian Circumscription - 10 by Chen Yujun was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in January 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 200,000.00 – 400,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 189,000.00 (€ 20,091.47). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chen Yujun achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Unstable Faith No. 20190312 in April this year with an auction result of HKD 336,000.00 (€ 343,121.74).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Asian Circumscription - 10 von Chen Yujun im Januar 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 200.000,00 – 400.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 189.000,00 (€ 20.091,47) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chen Yujun erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Unstable Faith No. 20190312 im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 336.000,00 (€ 343.121,74).
