Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2014 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Asian Art, which included the work Toilet Paper by Chen Wenbo. It changed hands for a price of HKD 187,500.00 (€ 19,303.67) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 100,000.00 – 200,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chen Wenbo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Chinesetest No.10 in October 2008 with an auction result of EUR 475,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2014 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Toilet Paper von Chen Wenbo zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 187.500,00 (€ 19.303,67) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 100.000,00 – 200.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chen Wenbo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Chinesetest No.10 im Oktober 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 475.000,00.
