Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Twilight by Chen Qikuan was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 180,000.00 – 350,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 187,500.00 (€ 21,430.97) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Chen Qikuan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mood in October 2016 with an auction result of HKD 1,375,000.00 (€ 161,808.98).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Twilight von Chen Qikuan kam im Oktober 2019 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 180.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 187.500,00 (€ 21.430,97) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chen Qikuan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mood im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.375.000,00 (€ 161.808,98).
