Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Charles Bartlett could be acquired at Bonhams in Los Angeles in January 2024 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Prints & Multiples auction, the work Gateway to Agra; Fruit Sellers Madura India 2 changed hands for USD 832.00 (€ 727.15) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Bartlett achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Surf Riders, Honolulu, circa 1921 in September last year with an auction result of USD 31,875.00 (€ 32,582.03).
