Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Charles Bartlett achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in August this year. In the The Art of Hawaiʻi auction, the work The Taj Mahal sold for USD 14,080.00 (€ 12,990.13) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Bartlett - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Surf Riders, Honolulu, circa 1921, which sold at auction in September last year for USD 31,875.00 (€ 32,582.03).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Charles Bartlett erzielte im August diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Art of Hawaiʻi wurde die Arbeit The Taj Mahal für USD 14.080,00 (€ 12.990,13) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Bartlett mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Surf Riders, Honolulu, circa 1921 beobachtet, die im September letzten Jahres für USD 31.875,00 (€ 32.582,03) versteigert wurde.
