Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work On point by Charles Towne was worth GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,676.24) to a buyer in November 2010. This price was achieved in the auction Sporting & Wildlife Art Including an Important Private Collection of Works by Archibald Thorburn and Charles Frederick Tunnicliffe at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Towne achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A bay hunter and three pointers in a landscape with Lyston Hall beyond in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 138,650.00 (€ 214,460.15).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Die Arbeit On point von Charles Towne war einem Käufer im November 2010 GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.676,24) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Sporting & Wildlife Art Including an Important Private Collection of Works by Archibald Thorburn and Charles Frederick Tunnicliffe bei Christies in London erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00 um ein Vielfaches. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A bay hunter and three pointers in a landscape with Lyston Hall beyond im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 138.650,00 (€ 214.460,15).
