Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Riders and dogs on a country path, with a figure herding cattle in the distance by Charles Towne was auctioned at Bonhams in April this year. The price achieved of GBP 3,570.00 (€ 4,068.64) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Towne achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A bay hunter and three pointers in a landscape with Lyston Hall beyond in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 138,650.00 (€ 214,460.15).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Riders and dogs on a country path, with a figure herding cattle in the distance von Charles Towne kam im April diesen Jahres bei Bonhams zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.570,00 (€ 4.068,64) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Towne erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A bay hunter and three pointers in a landscape with Lyston Hall beyond im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 138.650,00 (€ 214.460,15).
