Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art Online, which included the work An English Pointer In A Landscape by Charles Towne. The price achieved of USD 3,500.00 (€ 3,075.84) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Towne achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A bay hunter and three pointers in a landscape with Lyston Hall beyond in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 138,650.00 (€ 214,460.15).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion 19th Century European Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit An English Pointer In A Landscape von Charles Towne zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.500,00 (€ 3.075,84) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Towne erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A bay hunter and three pointers in a landscape with Lyston Hall beyond im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 138.650,00 (€ 214.460,15).
