The work A couple travelling with animals down a country path, with a dog drinking from a stream by Charles Towne was sold in the Old Master Paintings auction at Bonhams in April this year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,825.00 (€ 4,359.25), 28% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Towne achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A bay hunter and three pointers in a landscape with Lyston Hall beyond in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 138,650.00 (€ 214,460.15).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.825,00 (€ 4.359,25) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Towne erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A bay hunter and three pointers in a landscape with Lyston Hall beyond im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 138.650,00 (€ 214.460,15).
