Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work A saddled bay hunter with two hounds outside a stable by Charles Towne was auctioned at Christies in New York in May this year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 20,160.00 (€ 23,456.29). Admittedly, works by Charles Towne have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A bay hunter and three pointers in a landscape with Lyston Hall beyond in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 138,650.00 (€ 214,460.15).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit A saddled bay hunter with two hounds outside a stable von Charles Towne kam im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 20.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 20.160,00 (€ 23.456,29) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Towne auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A bay hunter and three pointers in a landscape with Lyston Hall beyond im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 138.650,00 (€ 214.460,15).
