In December 2015 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale, which included the work A Mountainous Landscape With A Gentleman On A Chestnut Hunter, Accompanied By Two Pointers by Charles Towne. The result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 20,369.28) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Towne achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A bay hunter and three pointers in a landscape with Lyston Hall beyond in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 138,650.00 (€ 214,460.15).

Im Dezember 2015 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Mountainous Landscape With A Gentleman On A Chestnut Hunter, Accompanied By Two Pointers von Charles Towne zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 20.369,28) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Towne erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A bay hunter and three pointers in a landscape with Lyston Hall beyond im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 138.650,00 (€ 214.460,15).
