Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work The Assassination of Alboin, King of the Lombards by Charles Landseer for GBP 18,750.00 (€ 21,921.79). This price was achieved in the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite and British Impressionist Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Charles Landseer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Return of the Dove to the Ark in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 133,150.00 (€ 194,394.80).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2016 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Assassination of Alboin, King of the Lombards von Charles Landseer für GBP 18.750,00 (€ 21.921,79) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite and British Impressionist Art bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Landseer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Return of the Dove to the Ark im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 133.150,00 (€ 194.394,80).
